The inaugural lecture in the Pavel Distinguished Lecture Series: Waypoints in Microbial Oceanography will be live streaming here.
The lecture will be presented by Professor Rita Colwell, one of the most distinguished microbiologists living today, former Director of the National Science Foundation and recipient of the National Medal of Science.
Dr. David Karl, the Victor and Peggy Brandstrom Pavel Endowed Professor in Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), created the Pavel Distinguished Lecture Series to “recognize benchmark achievement in microbial oceanography and to promote a greater understanding of the sea around us.â€
