Interdisciplinary Austronesian Connections Symposium
May 1, 9:00am - 6:00pmMānoa Campus, Burns Hall 3121/3125
Do you happen to speak—or are you interested in—any of the more than 1,200 Austronesian languages spoken around the world (http://www.ethnologue.com/subgroups/austronesian)? Have you thought about the connections between the people who speak those languages?
Please join us for the inaugural Interdisciplinary Austronesian Connections Symposium! During this free, one-day event, panels of scholars and community leaders will explore what it means to be an “Austronesian person†today and the critical issue of well-being in the region.
The Symposium will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 in Burns Hall 3121/3125 from 9AM to 6PM. The event is free and open to the public. However, due to limited seating in the venue, pre-registration is required. The deadline for pre-registration is Tuesday, March 31. To pre-register, directly contact the event organizer, Emerson Odango (e-mail: emerson.odango@gmail.com, cell: 757-419-6030). Please contact the organizer with any questions, including disability access concerns.
This symposium is funded by private contributions from alumni and friends of the Colleges of Arts & Sciences.
