'Ethicist' Professor Kenneth Kipnis has spent most of his professional career working as an “Ethics Consultant†in a variety of non-academic settings. In this introductory essay to a collection of his “field reportsâ€, he ruminates on his professional identity, on the nature of ethics consultation, and his gradual entry into this re-emerging role.
