Pueblo
Every gathering
of humans
into a village
means trash collects —
glass shards or Tropicana
jugs. Nutrients cling,
ripen, rot around the edges
of the detritus, attract
a whole ecosystem
of fungus, bacteria,
insects, roaches,
rats,
life coalescing, but warped
by the gravity
of human ease.
