All UH employees must complete Title IX training upon hire and annually thereafter. The type and amount of training will vary depending on each employee’s role, but all employees must complete Title IX training.
Employee Training Requirements Starting January 6, 2025:
- New Hires: Must complete the 3-hour online “Preventing Harassment & Discrimination: Non-Supervisors Extended + Clery Act and Title IX – Updated” training within 30 days of employment.
- Annual Requirement: All employees will subsequently complete the shorter 1-hour online “Preventing Harassment & Discrimination: Gateway” training every year.
- Employees with Title IX responsibilities: Will receive additional specialized training tailored to their roles.
Executive/Managerial (EM) Employees are required to complete the 3-hour online “Preventing Harassment & Discrimination: Non-Supervisors Extended + Clery Act and Title IX – Updated” training within 30 days of hire. Subsequently, for the next four years, they must complete the shorter 1-hour online “Preventing Harassment & Discrimination: Gateway” training annually, based on the most recent completion date for the next four years after that. This 5-year cycle then repeats.
We also encourage all staff to complete the Workplace Violence Prevention training.
Executive/Managerial Staff: In addition to the Harassment and Discrimination, you are also required to complete the Workplace Violence Prevention and Hawaii Ethics Code trainings.
In January 2023, the University’s online training service provider merged with another company and moved to a new platform, so all historical training records may not be easily accessible to you, although the Office of EEO/TIX has retained such records. Prior training history should be viewable by going to “Training History” on the Vector Solutions training platform and selecting the time period for which you are searching records.
If you feel the training history shown under “Training History” is incomplete, please contact the Office of EEO/TIX at eeo@hawaii.edu.
