Driving e-Research Across the Pacific Workshops
Two workshops were held to foster collaboration opportunities between researchers in the United States and Australia.
The first workshop was held 11-12 October 2007 at Rendezvous Observation City, Scarborough Beach, Perth, Western Australia. The invitation-only workshop brought together around 40 researchers and infrastructure providers from Australia and the United States with the aim of catalysing eResearch collaboration between the two countries by deploying innovative applications over advanced cyber-infrastructure including the exchange facility of TransLight Pacific Wave, the Southern Cross Trans-Pacific Optical Research Testbed (SXTransPORT), the AARNet national network and the nation-wide grids in Australia and the US.
The second workshop was held November 12-13, 2009 in conjunction with the e-research Australasia conference held in Sydney, Australia November 9-13, 2009.
