Dear Participants in the 12th East-West Philosophers’ Conference:
The Conference Organizing Committee has continued to meet on the Corona Virus 2019 and how it might impact our forthcoming conference in May 2021. After considerable deliberation, we have decided that, regardless of cost and inconvenience, we must put the health of everyone first. Even with a vaccine on the horizon, it will be some time before colleagues will be comfortable with travel and conferencing.
For this reason, we have arranged with our donors and various partners to postpone the conference for another year, May 20-27, 2022. You will find attached a draft copy of the conference program, updated to include the new dates. This program draft will serve as the basis for the conference in 2022.
If you are included in the program, you will automatically be welcome to participate in the Conference in 2022. We know that circumstances may change, of course, and that some of you may not be able to join us. However, we hope that the disappointment and inconvenience of rescheduling the Conference for 2022 will be offset by shared concerns about the public health risks of COVID-19 and appreciation for the wisdom of precaution.
We will continue to communicate with you with further information in anticipation of this forthcoming, historic event.
