Michelle Clark
Program Director
Michelle Clark has been at the Pacific Business Center Program for 25 years, working on business and economic development projects in the Pacific region. Starting in February 1999, she worked her way up from a Graduate Research Assistant, to a Business Development Support Specialist, to a Business Development Specialist, to a Business Development & Resources Manager, and most recently to Program Director in September 2023. As Director, Michelle is responsible for overseeing the entire Pacific Business Center Program, which utilizes the resources of the University of Hawaii to provide business and economic development technical assistance to clients in the State of Hawaii and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands. In addition, she continues to be responsible for developing, managing, and providing technical assistance for business and economic development projects in the form of market research, feasibility studies, business plans, strategic plans, etc. to clients in all service areas, focusing on projects related to tourism and small business start-ups or expansions.
Michelle was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has a BBA in Travel Industry Management and an MBA in International Business, both from the University of Hawaii. She previously worked for the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Japan Travel Bureau in Vancouver, Canada and Hawaii. She has also taught English in Fukuoka, Japan as part of the Japanese government’s Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. Since 2013, she has been serving as a lecturer for the UH’s School of Travel Industry Management, teaching an upper-level undergraduate writing intensive course (graduate student elective) on Destination Development and Marketing. Michelle spends much of her free time outdoors, enjoying the beautiful beaches and scenic spots of Hawaii. She loves to travel and has visited over 30 countries. Michelle is a board member of the ‘Iolani Alumni Association.
Doris Miocinovic
Business Development Specialist
Doris Miocinovic has worked at the PBCP on and off since 2005 for a collective total of about 13 years. She started as a Graduate Research Assistant while pursuing her MBA degree, then continued as a Business Analyst, before becoming a Business Development Specialist in 2017. Doris works with clients from Hawaii and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands on small-business start-ups, existing business expansions, and special projects. Most of the projects require providing technical assistance with business or strategic planning, and feasibility or market studies.
Doris was born and raised in Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia). Being an outstanding volleyball player in Yugoslavia, she was recruited and offered a full athletic college scholarship in Hawaii. Her undergraduate study of business began at Brigham Young University of Hawaii in 1994 and was completed at Chaminade University of Honolulu in 1998. After completing her undergraduate degree, Doris worked in various industries ranging from national non-profits to financial, educational, retail and entertainment. In 2007, she completed her MBA with an emphasis in entrepreneurship at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Aside from work, Doris coaches volleyball, enjoys photography, and is involved as a volunteer in nature preservation, sports, arts, and education.
Dylan Tran
Student Business Analyst
Dylan Tran joined the Pacific Business Center Program as a student business analyst in July 2024. As a Student Business Analyst, Dylan provides market studies, research, and reports to assess the feasibility and solutions of business goals of the PBCP’s clients. He is a graduate student currently enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS) program. Dylan received a BBA in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Finance from the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii at Manoa in Spring 2024. He previously worked for the City and County of Honolulu as a Pool Lifeguard during his undergraduate studies, and has worked as a Student Worker with the State of Hawaii’s Department of Transportation. Currently, he is also undergoing an internship with the Hawaii Employers Mutual Insurance Company. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dylan enjoys time spent with his friends and loved ones. He also plays video games in his free time, and has taken up an interest in gardening.
Kylar Cade
Student Business Analyst
Kylar Cade joined the Pacific Business Center Program as a student business analyst in October 2024. As a student business analyst, he conducts research and writes related to business and economic development. He is a graduate student in the Master in Public Administration program at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Kylar graduated in July 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in international relations from IE University in Madrid, Spain. In the time between graduation and the start of his graduate studies, Kylar worked as an assistant manager at a Domino’s establishment and then as a substitute teacher. He also was an intern for a developing international think tank before transitioning to be an intern for the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s office that is based in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. Kylar was born in Seoul, South Korea. He enjoys knowing what is going on around the world and having meaningful conversations with people. He seeks spiritual and leadership growth.
