Hawaii and Federal Employment Law Posters
Employers are required to display employment law notices and posters in conspicuous places that are visited regularly by employees. These notices and posters inform employees and prospective employees of their rights under federal and State employment laws and regulations.

- Display posters in prominent and conspicuous places at each workplace. If employees do not report to a central location on a regular or daily basis, post the notices at each workplace where employees can readily observe them (i.e., designated bulletin board, lunch room, break room, conference room).
- There are employment notices that are required to be posted for both employees and prospective employees to inform them of their employment rights. These posters are Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law (EEO), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the English and Spanish versions of the E-Verify and Right to Work notices.
- The Deans and Directors shall be responsible for selecting, monitoring and maintaining the locations to display the notices.
- Although employment posters are available on the OHR website and NeoGov, physical posting is required by law.
- Notices shall be displayed in areas that are visited regularly or daily by employees and where job applicants can view them when they come in for in-person interviews.
- Some laws include a size requirement and may require the poster text to be a certain font size that is large enough to be easily read. Recommend employment notices be printed as is (no reduction in size).

- Failure to post the required, current state and federal employment law notices can result in fines.
