Eligible employees are allowed up to 3 days of paid bereavement leave within a reasonable period of time after a death of an immediate family member.
Faculty may be eligible to use vacation or additional 2 days of leave if death or funeral occurs outside the State of Hawaii.
Refer to your collective bargaining agreement for more information regarding Bereavement Leave. For Executive/Managerial (EM) employees, pursuant to RP 9.212 EM employees shall be granted rights and benefits provided to other University employees.
