Undergraduate students got hands-on experience in community engagement at Lyon Arboretum as part of UH Mānoa’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience.
Affordable Schools says the flagship campus of the UH System ranks number eight among more than 2,700 bachelor degree granting institutions in the country.
This summer program’s theme, “Fun in the Jungle” will offer participants the opportunity to learn about rainforest ecosystems and gardening, create art and nature crafts and take part in a scientific investigation.
The UH Mānoa Lyon Arboretum’s education department will continue supporting low-income public school students, thanks to a grant from the Garden Club of Honolulu.
Faculty, staff, students, community supporters and visitors—old and new—gathered at various events throughout the year to celebrate Lyon Arboretum’s first century.
