UH Mānoa Campus Arboretum celebrates Arbor Day with tree planting, adoption

More than 200 participants gathered across McCarthy Mall to participate in free activities to promote learning, connection and deep reflection.
The event is hosted every two years by the Mānoa Outdoor Circle.
More than a dozen people also participated in a tree planting event outside of C-MORE Hale and Sherman Laboratory.
The number of individual palm trees at the arboretum is 2,519 representing 615 unique species.
The arboretum will create a comprehensive program for all ages to address climate change and its effects on Hawaiʻi’s endangered endemic plants.
