Participation in the Early College initiative, in which Hawaiʻi students can earn college and high school credits while still in high school, increased by 11 percent from 2012 through 2017, according to the College and Career Readiness Indicators Report.
More than 750 students from nine Oʻahu middle schools engaged exhibitors through hands-on, interactive activities designed to educate and expose them to various career pathways and college opportunities.
Early College offers the opportunity for students to take UH courses at their high school and earn credit toward their high school graduation and college degree.
