The institution moved up four places to number three, behind large organizations World Bank, Asian Development Bank and U.S. Congressional Research Service.
The Obama Foundation convened 21 future leaders from 16 countries and territories across the Asia-Pacific region in a workshop at the East-West Center adjacent to the UH Mānoa campus.
The project will expand the knowledge about vulnerability to climate change in the Marshall Islands, particularly where climate stressors lead to health impacts.
The East-West Center’s Board of Governors reappointed Richard Turbin as the board’s chair for another one-year term and also reappointed Kurt Campbell and James Scott as vice-chairs.
The conference brings together islanders, researchers, managers and non-governmental organizations from around the world to focus on topics critical to island communities and ecosystems.
The Asia Pacific Dance Festival features performances by international and local guest artists as well as events and lectures open to the public.
