The new president would begin in fall 2024, replacing current President David Lassner, who announced that he will retire in 2024.

The UH Board of Regents approved a resolution to clarify the university’s role regarding the transfer of UH’s management responsibilities on Maunakea to the Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority.
Lassner also provided updates on the tenure project and the RISE innovation center and student housing project.
Paula Nishimoto, human resources specialist, is honored with the Willard WIlson Award for Distinguished Service.
