BOR blesses new meeting space, elects officers for 2024–25

The regents unanimously elected Gabriel Lee as chair, and Laurie Tochiki and Laurel Loo as vice chairs

Joshua Faumuina has been selected to serve as a student UH regent.

Shomaker is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2024.

President David Lassner provided updates on UH support for Lahainaluna High School students, 2024 fall enrollment and philanthropic fundraising.

The 2024 UH Mānoa Awards Ceremony will be held on May 8, 2024.

Miyahira is the owner of Business Strategies, a company that provides consulting services to family owned and closely held businesses.

The updated timeline was announced at a March 21 BOR presidential search special meeting.

President Lassner also discussed some of the findings in the Hawaiʻi College and Career Readiness Indicators Report.

The awardees are Gerald (Jerry) K. Santos, Fred Kalani Meinecke and Michael D. Nakasone.

Regents also voted to require advisory group members to sign a confidentiality agreement and have an ethics inquiry on any potential conflicts.
