These rankings are among the most recognized global assessments of academic and research excellence.
The NEH delegation also met with UH Mānoa faculty who received NEH funding, and learned about the lasting impact of their projects.
Linguistics led the UH Mānoa rankings at No. 10 in the U.S. and No. 22 in the world.
In total, 14 subjects placed in the world's top 1%.
In addition, UH’s flagship campus ranked in 17 other narrow subject areas, all in the nation’s top 100.
Five of the 10 ranked subjects placed in the world’s top 1%, while the others placed in the world’s top 2–4%.
UH’s flagship campus is ranked No. 394 worldwide and No. 106 in the U.S.
