The University of Hawaiʻiat Mānoa Nursing Alumni Association hosted the 2019 Alumni Awards in April and named two Hall of Fame inductees and two outstanding young alumni recipients.
The NCLEX Program Report ranked Kapiʻolani CC first out of eight nursing programs in the state based on the percentage of the passing rate of graduates.
The students who received the awards are Brittney Barriera, Amy Hicks, Darlene Jarquio, Cara Kruse, Jea Kyla Sheyne Laganina, Jolene Lima, Cynthia Perez, Hector Perez, Kaanoipua Roback, Kaz Tasic and Devan Ueno.
The nursing program has been awarded accreditation for eight years, the longest period possible by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
