Vulcan basketball players are the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Pepsi Athletes of the Week for the final weekend in February.

Harrison had a couple of big games on the road for the Vulcans. The junior transfer had UH Hilo bests against Azusa Pacific, scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds in a loss against the Cougars. Harrison had 14 points and 7 boards against Biola, giving him 37 points and 17 rebounds for the week, with five assists and two steals. He is averaging 11 points a game, 6 rebounds and is second on the team with 61 assists.

Allie Navarette

Sophomore Navarette had another big weekend as the Vulcans wrapped up their last road trip of the season. She scored 30 points against first-place Azusa Pacific, and had 11 rebounds, a block and an assist against the Cougars. Two nights earlier against Biola, Navarette tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds, a block and 2 steals. She has 15 double-doubles this season, seven of them consecutive. She is third in the PacWest conference in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game, and first in rebounds, averaging 9.9 per game. This is Navarette’s sixth Pepsi Athlete of the Week award.
