“O, yes! The fire of life burning inside us,” as quoted in one of Jon Hamblin’s paintings, describes Taking Flight the colorful, dynamic and lively art exhibition at Windward Community College’s Gallery ʻIolani January 25–February 25.
The new exhibition features the work of popular artists, Jodi Endicott and Jon Hamblin, and introduces the work of newcomer Sarah Hyland.
- Endicott’s work is in found materials, sculpture and painting
- Hamblin’s paintings illustrate with words and paint the human experience, often combined with a slice of life and humor
- Hyland illustrates images of her creative mind in paintings and journal entries
“There’s so much to look at in this show!” said Gallery ʻIolani Director Toni Martin.
The opening reception and exhibition on Friday, January 25, 4–7 p.m. is free and open to the public with free parking available.
Gallery ʻIolani celebrates 25 years of exhibitions at Windward CC and is recognized as one of the finest exhibition sites in Hawaiʻi, showing work from local, national and international venues, and serves as a classroom for students studying gallery design and management.
