- Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat
September 14, 15, 21, 22 at 7:30 p.m.
September 23 at 2 p.m.Doctor Seuss’s beloved classic comes to life on stage in an action-packed, hilarious romp that is sure to delight all ages. The Cat in the Hat creates a day full of wacky adventure, wondrous balancing feats, and zany rhymes. It all seems under control (well, maybe not to the fish) until the Cat unleashes Thing 1 and Thing 2, as well as mischief and mayhem, on the house and leaving the children to wonder what mother will say when she returns home!
- War of the Worlds
October 26, 27, 30 at 7:30 p.m.“Radio Listeners in Panic, Taking War Drama as Fact” read the New York Times headline on October 31, 1938. Many across the country who tuned in late to Orson Welles’ live radio broadcast of H. G. Wells’ War of the Worlds became panicked, thinking the broadcast play about aliens invading Earth was, in fact, real news. The Theatre and Dance Association presents a staged reading of Welles’ drama in celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the infamous broadcast.

- The Good Person of Setzuan

October 14 at 2 p.m.Three Gods visit the earth to find just one mensch; one good person who will justify the world’s continuation. No good person in Schun. Kwan was a bust. Maybe they will have better luck in Setzuan. But how can a person be good while desperately struggling to make ends meet? Shen Te must sell herself to get by. Wang must sell water but can only do that if it’s not raining. Rug sellers peddle their wares. Will the Gods ever find their mensch?

November 18 at 2 p.m.This biannual dance concert showcases the culmination of years of study and sweat. It features exemplary undergraduate student choreography as well as graduating MFA students’ thesis works in a variety of dance styles.
