Kapiʻolani Community College’s David Apostol was honored with the University of Hawaiʻi’s President’s Award for Excellence in Building and Grounds Maintenance. The award is given to an individual who has exhibited sustained superior performance in a maintenance, landscaping, custodial or trucking position.

Apostol goes above and beyond his required job responsibilities, working tirelessly to ensure a beautiful campus, often working on weekends so as not to inconvenience the campus and its students.

He is described as being a humble man, a committed team player who cares deeply about his colleagues and a consummate professional with a positive can-do attitude.

Apostol is praised for his initiative in taking the lead on campus projects and promoting a proud sense of community among all.
