Tzvetan Spassov

The Hawaiʻi Community College International Education Committee presents a climate change lecture by Bulgarian Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar Tzvetan Spassov. The lecture, “The Impacts of Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector: U.S. Policies for Adaptation to a Warmer Climate,” is on Thursday, May 7 in Kaneikeao (Building 379, Room 1) at Hawaiʻi CC. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants can meet the speaker during a social hour with light refreshments from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The lecture, which will include a question-and-answer period, is from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

In Sofia, Bulgaria, Tzvetan Spassov is an adjunct lecturer in sustainable development at the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Technical University of Sofia and the Department of National and International Security, New Bulgarian University, Sofia.

Currently, Spassov is a Fulbright visiting research scholar at the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University. He is conducting research that analyzes various climate change impacts on the agricultural sector and is looking at the rational and efficient use of available resources, renewable energy resources, new business and employment opportunities in the U.S., especially in the Midwest states.
