University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Professor of Geology Ken Hon explains the hazards Puna Hawaiʻi residents will face as lava flows through the Puna community. Hon specializes in the mechanics of pahoehoe lava.
Hon and his wife Cheryl Gansecki, a UH Hilo volcanology/geology lecturer and volcano videographer from Volcano Video Productions, are producing informational materials about the current lava flow in Puna and posting them to YouTube.
