For the second consecutive week and third time this season, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Louis Sakanoko was named Big Wests Freshman of the Week following the Rainbow Warriors’ series split of CSUN, March 22–23.
Sakanoko started both matches and averaged a team-best 3.63 kills per set along with averages of 2.00 digs and 0.75 blocks per set. He hit .276 for the series with three aces.
In the series opener, the outside hitter tallied 10 kills, three aces, seven digs and three blocks in a four-set victory. The following night, he matched his season-high in kills with 19, hitting at a .324 clip, with nine digs and three blocks in a four-set loss.
