University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s track and field student-athletes Alyssa Mae Antolin and Montserrat Montanes i Arbo were named Big West Track Athlete of the Week and Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, following their performances at the Cardinal Classic on March 18 in Sacramento, California.

Antolin placed fourth in the 100m (11.88) and fifth in the 200m (24.06). Both of her times ranked in the top six all-time at UH. She currently ranks No. 1 in the Big West in the 200m and No. 5 in the 100m. In the 4×400 relay, Antolin ran the fastest leg to help the Rainbow Wahine to a time of 3:49.24, which ranks first in the Big West.

Montanes i Arbo started off the outdoor season in a powerful way. She won the hammer throw with a distance of 57.36m, placing her at No. 1 in the conference by a length of four meters. While sitting atop the Big West, she is ranked 17th in the West Region and climbing.

The Rainbow Wahine will return to action at the Mike Fanelli Classic in San Francisco, California, March 30–April 1.
