University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s volleyball player Samara Cruz and men’s soccer player Christian Souza earned KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week honors for October 12–18.
Cruz, a junior outside hitter, put down a career-high 20 kills along with 15 digs against Holy Names University on October 12. She also tallied eight kills and racked up 13 digs to help lead the Vulcans to a 3-0 sweep over Dominican University on October 15.
Souza, a junior goalkeeper, made four saves to lead the men’s soccer team to their first shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Holy Names University on October 18.
The award names one male and one female Vulcan Athletics student-athlete each week, highlighting their accomplishments from the prior week.
