Two University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s soccer standouts have been recognized as the Pepsi Seniors for the week of May 17–23.

Midfielder Janelle Schwartz led the Vulcans in minutes played with 1,645 from her defender and midfield positions. As a junior, she was an integral part of one of the best defenses in Vulcan school history, allowing just 10 goals in 16 total matches. Schwartz will be a two-time All-PacWest Scholar Athlete. The Petaluma, Calif. native graduated at the conclusion of the 2019 soccer season with a degree in communications and plans to pursue work in the public relations field.

Goalkeeper Bailey Cahill played nearly every minute in the goal over the course of the 2018 and 2019 seasons. As a junior on the record-breaking 2018 team, she earned Second Team All-Pacific West Conference honors, posting a 0.60 goals against average, the second best in school history. Cahill was a key part of seven Vulcan shutouts and had 50 saves on the year. She will also be a two-time All-PacWest Scholar Athlete. The Santa Rosa, Calif. native graduated on May 16 with a degree in psychology and plans to stay in Hilo to pursue a master’s degree.
