Out Loud in the Library! at Windward Community College presents artist/writer Tamara Leiokanoe Moan, on October 23, at 1 p.m. at Hale Laʻakea Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Moan’s artwork ranges from drawings and watercolors, to prints and books. She has exhibited her artwork in Hawaiʻi and Oregon. Her paintings hang in the collection at Aulani Disney Resort and in the maternity ward of the Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women and Children. Her illustrations are included in historical booklets for the Kailua Historical Society.

Moan’s writing has appeared in Hana Hou Magazine, Island Scene, American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, Pastel Artist, Hawaiʻi Pacific Review and Bamboo Ridge.

Moan earned a BFA in graphic design at the University of Washington, and an MA in literature and creative writing from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She currently lives and works in Kailua.

Out Loud in the Library! is a literary and music event celebrating the rich intersection of words and music by local artists, and is meant to inspire and encourage students to find their own creative voice through writing, reading, poetry, music, spoken word and the visual arts.
