University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa swimmer Milan Bukovics was named to the Academic All-America third team for the first time in his career.

His selection gives the UH Mānoa men’s swimming and diving team back-to-back Academic All-America honorees, following Justin Lisoway’s Academic All-America third team recognition in 2024.

Bukovics is a decorated student-athlete who earned multiple academic awards throughout his career, including College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in 2023 and 2024, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors in 2022 and 2023 and Academic All-Big West honors in 2024.

Bukovics volunteers for UH Mānoa’s Team Robotic Space Exploration as an avionics lead and also serves as a leader for the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship.

In the pool, the senior garnered Big West Athlete of the Week honors in October 2024, after stellar performances in two dual meets against Grand Canyon. Bukovics won the 100 butterfly (47.95) and 100 IM (49.72) in the first meet, followed by a victory in 200 IM (1:49.63) on the final day of competition between the teams.

At the Big West Championships, Bukovics placed fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 3:51.37. He also earned 12 podium finishes during the regular season, including seven golds.

Bukovics was among 31 men’s swim and dive athletes named to the NCAA Division I Academic
All-America teams selected by the CSC.

To qualify for the Academic All-America teams, student-athletes must have earned Academic All-District honors, be at least a sophomore, maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and compete in five competitions or finish top-eight at a conference meet.
