The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Shidler College of Business Alumni Association held its annual Executive Vineyards fundraiser on March 7, at The Royal Hawaiian. This signature event successfully raised $68,500 to elevate Shidler College through alumni outreach efforts, student academic activities, scholarships and more.
This year’s 25th anniversary welcomed more than 600 attendees from Hawaiʻi’s business community in support of the association’s largest fundraiser.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the success of our annual Executive Vineyards fundraiser and are always grateful for the impact our alumni and supporters continue to make to the college,” said Miki Ikeda (BBA ‘05), event co-chair and commercial real estate loan relationship manager at Bank of Hawaiʻi.
“This event wouldn’t be possible without the support from all of our sponsors and partners, who help make this event a reality and contribute to a great cause,” said Brandon Chu (BS ‘08), event co-chair and general manager of Aqualani.
Attendees enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants, sampled hundreds of wines and spirits, and connected with fellow professionals against the stunning backdrop of Diamond Head and Waikīkī Beach. Local newscaster and UH Mānoa alumna Kelly Simek emceed the event, and guests had the opportunity to participate in a prize drawing, as well as bid on exclusive items in the online auction.
“The continued success of the college is driven by the dedication and support of our extensive alumni network,” said Dean Vance Roley. “Their passion, generosity and commitment to shaping the future of the college ensure that we remain at the forefront of business education in Hawaiʻi and beyond.”
Spirits and wine were donated by event sponsors Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of Hawaii, Beverage Marketing & More, and Tamura’s Fine Wines and Liquors. Platinum sponsors included Bank of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi State Federal Credit Union, Mahi Pono, Par Hawaii, and The Shidler Group, with Pacific Business News once again serving as the media sponsor.
