University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s basketball players Jake Kosakowski, Julio Montes II and Nadjrick Peat and women’s basketball player Caiyle Kaupu received 2024–25 Pacific West Conference postseason awards.
Men’s basketball
Jake Kosakowski and Julio Montes II were named to the All-PacWest Third Team while Nadjrick Peat was selected as PacWest Conference Defender of the Year for the second time in his career.
Montes II led the Vulcans in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game while finishing second in the PacWest with a .884 free-throw shooting percentage (conference-only contests).
Kosakowski led the conference with 59 3-pointers for a league-best 3.0 3-pointers per game while finishing second with a .450 three-point shooting percentage.
Peat, who was previously named Defender of the Year for the 2022–23 season, led all other players with 38 blocks and was second in total rebounding (160).
The six-team PacWest Championships postseason tournament begins March 6 with the Vulcans seeded fourth to take on fifth-seed Concordia at 5:15 p.m. Hawaiʻi time.

Women’s basketball
Caiyle Kaupu was named to the 2024–25 All-Pacific West Conference Third Team.
Kaupu led this year’s team in scoring and rebounding as the Vulcans posted a 6-14 conference record for a 10th-place finish. Kaupu totaled 350 points on the season, ranking No. 7 all-time for single-season totals scored by a Vulcan.
Kaupu’s PacWest rankings for conference-only contests: No. 6 points per game (15.8), No. 8 free throws (60), No. 8 rebounds per game (7.3) and No. 11 field-goal percentage (.425).
