“With change comes uncertainty, and reasonable people will have different perspectives on the best way forward,” said Hensel. “As we navigate these evolving directives, it is essential that we engage in open, thoughtful dialogue about what these policy changes mean for our campuses, students, faculty and staff.”
The forum will be open to both in-person and virtual audiences, ensuring broad participation from across UH’s 10 campuses. Participants will be able to submit questions in advance. Information on how to submit questions will be shared prior to the forum.
In addition to the forum, the university has launched a Federal Policy Update Resource Page, where students and employees can find the latest news, FAQs, guidance and support services related to these policy changes.
“I look forward to this important conversation and hope you can join me in person or online,” said Hensel. “Mahalo nui loa for your partnership in moving the University of Hawaiʻi forward for our families and communities.”
Hensel initially announced her plan to hold an open forum in a February 28 message to the 10 campuses where she also reaffirmed UH values and provided an update to the Executive Orders and directives by the federal government.
