University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo senior men’s basketball athlete Nadjrick Peat was selected as Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week after the team split its Oʻahu road trip to open conference play.

Over two games, Peat collected eight blocks, 20 rebounds and 24 points in a loss to HPU and victory over Chaminade. Peat tied the program’s single-game block record with six blocks against Chaminade, matching his November 1 outing and a 2015 performance.

Peat is ranked No. 3 in Division II. for averaging 3.00 blocks per game, No. 5 for 27 total blocks, No. 12 for 85 total rebounds, and No. 19 for 9.4 rebounds per game. He also grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds against Chaminade for his ninth career double-double.

This marks his fourth PacWest weekly honor after being awarded three times in 2022–23 before ultimately being named Defender of the Year.
