Wondering where to eat on campus? Stop by Food Truck Row located near Legacy Path and Krauss Hall to visit the newest food options, available to the UH community, Olay’s Thai-Lao Express and Middle Eats. They join a group of local vendors adding to the diversity of dining options on campus.

Olay’s Thai-Lao Express
Tuesday, Thursday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Food Truck Row

Olay’s Thai-Lao Express is excited to serve their signature dishes to the UH community including pad thai, satay chicken, Thai curry and Thai coffee. Students and staff can enjoy the unique flavor profile of Thai and Laos.

“My mother was a cook for a few Thai restaurants on Oahu. She has a passion for cooking and an entrepreneurial heart, so she ventured off and started selling her products at farmers markets since 2008,” said Macy Khounkeo, owner of Olay’s Thai-Lao Express. Macy has followed in her mom’s footsteps and has taken over the business in 2011.

Bringing vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients, Middle Eats serves up a unique style of Middle Eastern cuisine. Their menu includes delightful flavors ranging from hummus, falafel to a delicious shawarma brisket.

“We are so excited to share our delicious food with students that come to the campus from all over the world, whether they miss this kind of food from back home or even the ones that never had this type of food before,” said Hatem Askar, owner of Middle Eats. “We are aiming to provide delicious authentic healthy food experience to the UH community at a reasonable price.”

“We’ve curated a selection of mobile food concepts that bring a diverse array of cuisines to the heart of our campus,” said Andy Lachman, UH Mānoa Food Services Manager. “This initiative not only enhances dining options on campus but also fosters a vibrant food culture that supports local vendors and provides everyone with exciting flavors to enjoy.”
