University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s volleyball players Tayli Ikenaga was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, and Kate Lang earned her fifth Setter of the Week award this season and the 16th of her career, on November 18.

Both seniors played key roles in the Rainbow Wahine sweep of Long Beach State and UC San Diego to close their homestand. Ikenaga recorded 35 digs over the two matches, with 18 digs in the win over Long Beach State and 17 digs in the sweep of UC San Diego. Ikenaga ranks second in the Big West with 422 digs and 3.98 per set.

Lang totaled 70 assists (11.67 per set) and recorded a double-double with 34 assists and 10 digs against Long Beach State. She also had 36 assists in the sweep of UC San Diego, leading UH to a .340 hitting percentage. Lang moved into third place in UH history for career assists with 4,346. She leads the Big West and ranks 12th nationally with 1,116 total assists.

The Rainbow Wahine enters the final week of the regular season in a three-team tie for first place in the Big West standings with Cal Poly and UC Davis. All three teams have secured spots in the six-team Big West Championship set for November 27 to 30 in Irvine, California.
