University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s cross country athlete Emilie Kirk Langschwager has earned Big West Female Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in her career on September 10.
The sophomore got her season off to a winning start, running an 18:09.9 to lead UH. She finished the 5k race nearly 19 seconds ahead of the runner-up. She led UH to a perfect score of 15 points, as the Rainbow Wahine took each of the top five spots in the season-opening race.
Kirk Langschwager holds the fourth-fastest 5k time in the Big West so far in the early season.
Kirk Langschwager is only the second Rainbow Wahine athlete to earn Big West Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors multiple times in a career.
