The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s football quarterback Brayden Schager has earned two preseason recognitions—the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the Manning Award—marking his fifth appearance on a preseason watch list.

The Golden Arm award annually recognizes the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. The watch list was selected by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Selection Committee, a group of prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers and former players.

The Manning Award, created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning, is the only award that includes the candidates’ postseason performances in its balloting. Schager was among 29 quarterbacks named to the list. Notably, each of the Manning Award winners has gone on to be selected for the first round of the NFL Draft.

Last season, Schager led the Mountain West in passing 3,542 yards, 26 touchdown passes, 168 points responsible for and ranked No.2 in total offense (277.3 ypg). He completed 63.2% of his attempts (332 of 525) and was named honorable mention all-Mountain West.

Schager is also on the watch list of the Maxwell Award, AFCA Good Works Team and Wuerffel Trophy.
