The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa baseball’s designated hitter Austin Machado earned ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) second-team All Region honors on June 11 after leading the team in hitting and RBIs in his first season as a Rainbow Warrior.

Machado is the first UH player since 2018 to earn this recognition and the first Hawaiʻi position player to receive the honor since 2011.

The junior hit .351 with four home runs and 48 RBIs, while leading the team and finishing second in the Big West with 19 doubles. Machado reached base in 52 of 53 games and ended the year sixth in the conference with a .473 on-base percentage.
