The 2024 University of Hawaiʻi football schedule features 12 games including seven home contests at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. The schedule was completed after the announcement of the Mountain West portion.

Among the seven home games includes UCLA, who will be competing in its first season in the Big Ten, and conference foes Boise State and UNLV, who played in last year’s Mountain West championship game. UH will also travel for road games at 2022 MW champion Fresno State, 2021 MW champion Utah State, two-time MW champion San Diego State and Washington State.

In addition, Hawaiʻi added Delaware State as its week 0 opponent. The Rainbow Warriors and Hornets will meet August 24 at Ching Complex. The game is one of four scheduled on the opening day of college football. UH will then host UCLA at Ching Complex, August 31 in the first meeting between the schools in Honolulu since 1939. Following the UCLA game, UH has an off week, the first of three bye weeks of the season.

Hawaiʻi will then make the season’s first road trip to Sam Houston, September 14, in Huntsville, Texas, in the first-ever meeting between the schools. Sam Houston is in its second year at the FBS level after winning the FCS national championship in 2020. The Warriors return to Honolulu the following week to close out non-conference play against Northern Iowa. With two FCS opponents on the schedule, UH can only count one FCS victory toward bowl eligibility.

“Football scheduling has been increasingly fluid with conference realignment and universities’ ever-changing scheduling priorities,” Athletics Director Craig Angelos said. “We will continue to build competitive schedules and we’ll work with our scheduling partners to best position our program. We appreciate our fans for their loyalty and understanding, and we look forward to a great 2024 season.”

After their second bye week of the season, the Warriors begin a stretch of seven consecutive games—alternating between home and away—beginning with a road contest at San Diego State, October 5. UH will then host defending Mountain West champion Boise State, October 12 before traveling to Washington State, October 19.

Hawaiʻi returns to Honolulu to host Nevada, October 26, then travels to Fresno State, November 2. UH will play a rivalry trophy game against UNLV, November 9 in Honolulu. The Rebels currently own possession of the Island Showdown Trophy by virtue of a win in Las Vegas in 2023. The Warriors will make their final road trip of the season at Utah State, November 16 and following their third and final bye week, UH will close out the regular season schedule at home against New Mexico, November 30.

The date of the Old Trapper Mountain West Championship Game is still to be determined. The game will feature the two teams with the highest conference winning percentage.
