After a seven-month pause, the Willed Body Program of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) is once again accepting body donations. The acceptance of anatomical gift donation forms for new enrollment will resume, and applications will be reviewed in the order they were received.

As each anatomical donation contributes directly to new understandings, each donor is greatly valued and honored. Students and staff treat each donor with the utmost respect and dignity.

In July 2023, due to an abundance of donations, the program that provides educational and scientific study for our students and doctors had to be paused.

“We wholeheartedly apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused for the families of our donors,” the program stated. “Since its inception in 1968, the support from our community to the Willed Body Program has been tremendous. We are deeply grateful to all donors who ensure JABSOM’s mission of attaining lasting optimal health for all continues.”
