University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s basketball guard and forward, Kamalu Kamakawiwoole delivered standout performances in back-to-back games against top PacWest teams earning her the PacWest Player of the Week. In an upset against Point Loma, she showcased the game of her career with a collegiate-best 27 points, including three-pointers in the final minute. Her 11-of-15 shooting led the Vulcans to a 74-71 victory, marking the highest individual point total in the PacWest this season. Kamakawiwoole also contributed eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and three steals.
Earlier in the week, facing the league-leading Cougars, Kamakawiwoole posted 17 points, seven rebounds, three blocked shots, and three steals. Across both games, she accumulated an impressive 44 points, 15 rebounds, six blocked shots, and six steals, showcasing her all-around skills and impact on the court.
