The USA Volleyball program extended an invitation to the Women’s National Team Open Program (WNTOP) to University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s volleyball‘s junior setter Kate Lang. The 2024 USA Volleyball WNTOP is scheduled for February 23–25 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
For the third-straight season, Lang led The Big West in assists per set, averaging a career-high 10.50 in 2023. She also led the league with 1,229 total assists en route to becoming just the 10th Rainbow Wahine to record over 3.000 assists. She ended her third year with 3,137 career assists.
The WNTOP offers a valuable training opportunity for NCAA athletes and is part of the process to identify athletes for invitation to the Women’s Collegiate National Team. Additionally, it serves as an essential platform for evaluating age-eligible athletes (born in 2005 and earlier) for the U21 Women’s National Team.
The WNTOP is used for consideration for selection to both our Women’s National Team and our Women’s Collegiate National Team (WCNT). The WNTOP and WCNT allow the Women’s National Team staff to observe the highest potential athletes with and against one another.
