University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s basketball’s Carlos Ramsey Jr. was selected as the PacWest Player of the Week after an overtime victory against the Chaminade Silverswords, 90-86, on November 16.
The 2022–23 PacWest Newcomer of the Year and Second Team pick dropped a career-high 31 points, had seven assists, seven rebounds and two steals. Ramsey Jr. hit 12-of-22 shots from the field, was 3-of-7 from behind the arch and was 4-for-6 from the free throw line. Ramsey Jr. scored nine of the Vulcan’s 11 points in overtime for the win.
UH Hilo improved to 5-2 on the season with a win over the Northwest Indian College Eagles, 102-65, at home on November 25.
The Vulcans will play against the Westmont Warriors on Wear White Night at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, December 4.
