Gallagher and Ivanov competing in the pool

University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa senior Timothy Gallagher qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in the 200 meter backstroke November 15 at the SMU Invitational Long Course Time Trials, swimming a 2:01.31.

Gallagher came in .38 seconds under the Olympic standard of 2:01.69, and will have a chance to swim for a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis next summer.

Kathryn Ivanov swam a 1:10.12 in the women’s 100 meter breaststroke to come in well below the Canadian Olympic trial standard of 1:13.10. Ivanov had already qualified for the Canadian trials in the event over the summer.
