Manuma on the field

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa sophomore defensive back Peter Manuma was selected as the Mountain West’s Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Rainbow Warriors to a 27-13 victory over Air Force on November 11.

Manuma tallied a career-high 12 tackles (seven solo) along with his third interception of the season. His fourth-quarter pick marked the second straight game recording an interception and the fifth of his career. The 12 tackles were tied for the most by a Rainbow Warrior this season.

Manuma and the UH defense finished the game with four takeaways—three interceptions and one fumble recovery. The Rainbow Warriors limited the Falcons to 13 points and held the nation’s leading rushing team to 80 yards below its season average.

Manuma is UH‘s first player of the week this season and first defensive honoree since the 2021 season. UH now heads to the road to play the Wyoming Cowboys on November 18.
