Vulcan menʻs basketball team

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s basketball team was voted to finish No. 3 in the PacWest Conference Coaches Preseason Poll that was released on October 25.

The Vulcans have climbed the conference ladder since head coach Kaniela Aiona came on board in the 2020–21 season.

The Vulcans finished fourth in the conference last year with a 13-7 tally and were 17-9 overall. Aiona welcomes back eight of his players, including reigning PacWest Newcomer of the Year Carlos Ramsey Jr. and PacWest Defender of the Year Nadjrick Peat.

The Vulcans will compete in the PacWest-GNAC Challenge, November 10–11 at the Murchison Gym (Westmont) against the Saint Martin’s Saints and the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets.
