The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo women’s soccer team placed No. 6 in the west region rankings announced on November 1.
The Vulcans (10-2-2) have one regular season match remaining on their quest for three straight PacWest Conference titles and one of three automatic spots in the NCAA West Regional.
UH Hilo’s final regular season match is on November 12 against the Chaminade Silverswords at the Saint Louis School Field. The Vulcans are in second place with 19 points, just one point behind league leader Concordia University Irvine.
The champions from the PacWest Conference, California Collegiate Athletic Association and Great Northwest Athletic Conference will automatically earn one of the six postseason bids up for grabs, leaving three at-large spots to be determined by the final NCAA Regional Rankings. One more iteration of the rankings will be released on November 8 before the announcement of teams at the NCAA Selection Show set for November 13.
The NCAA West Regional will take place between November 16 and December 3, with the NCAA National Championship from December 7 to 9.
