Smiling U H leadership with Aloha United Way signs

University of Hawaiʻi employees gave more than $200,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Aloha United Way and the Hawaiʻi Foodbank in 2022, placing UH as one of “Hawaiʻi’s Most Charitable Companies” on the annual list compiled by Hawaii Business magazine and published in the November 2023 issue.

UH employees gave a total of $214,594 in cash and in-kind donations to Aloha United Way and Hawaiʻi Foodbank, the only two officially state sanctioned charities in 2022. So this total does not include the many more donations made to other charitable organizations throughout the state, including the UH Foundation.

“I am incredibly proud of the generosity of our employees,” said UH President David Lassner. “I thank them not only for their commitment to public higher education, but also for their caring, kindness and hard work to support and improve the lives of others in our community.”
