I C S A All Academic Team announcement

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa sailing team’s Kelsie Grant, Owen Lahr, Taylor Ledgerwood, Trey Summers and Mercy Tangredi were among 277 sailors selected for the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) All-Academic Team 2022–23 for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the water.

The ICSA All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes juniors and seniors who participated in at least seven regattas during the season and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

This is the second straight year that Lahr and Grant earned the distinction. Lahr graduated last spring with a degree in finance, while playing an essential role for the Rainbow sailors. Lahr led the Rainbow sailors to a historic win in the prestigious LA Harbor Cup as well as first place in the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invitational. Grant, who earned her degree in communications, served as a crew member in those wins.

Ledgerwood, Summers and Tangredi also earned all-academic honors for the first time. Ledgerwood graduated with a degree in travel industry management. Tangredi, a physics major, earned all-Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference (PCCSC) women’s skipper honors, while helping UH advance to the ICSA Women’s National Championships. Summers, also a physics major, had a solid junior campaign and was part of UH‘s win at the LA Harbor Cup.

The sailing program continues its 2023–24 season with the upcoming PCCSC Fall Championships. The Rainbow Wahine squad will compete October 28–29 and coed squad on November 18–19 in Santa Barbara, California.
